"I SUPPORT THE AMERICAN NUMISMATIC ASSOCIATION"

"Devoted to the Advancement and Study of Numismatics"

Members Code of Ethics

Approved August 1965 by the ANA Board of Governors; revised February 1995. Membership in the American Numismatic Association is a privilege extended to those persons and organizations deemed worthy thereof and is not a matter of right. Such membership can be maintained unless the Board of Governors determines that the conduct of a member has been such that, in the best interest of the Association, his/her membership should be terminated.

For the guidance of its members, this Code of Ethics has been duly adopted by the Board of Governors under the authority vested in it by the Federal Charter and the bylaws of the Association. Any violation of this code will be grounds for expulsion from the American Numismatic Association.

As a member of the American Numismatic Association, I agree to comply with the following standards of conduct:

To support and be governed by the Federal Charter and the bylaws of the Association, and by such rules, policies and regulations as may be in force from time to time.

To conduct myself so as to bring no reproach or discredit to the Association, or impair the prestige of the membership therein.

To base all of my dealings on the highest plane of justice, fairness and morality, and to refrain from making false statements as to the condition of a coin or as to any other matter. To neither buy nor sell numismatic items of which the ownership is questionable.

To conform to the accepted standards of dignified advertising.

To take immediate steps to correct any error I may make in any transaction. Not to sell, exhibit, produce or advertise a counterfeit, copy, restrike or reproduction of any numismatic item if its nature is not clearly indicated by the word "counterfeit," "copy," "restrike," or "reproduction," incused in the metal or printed on the paper thereof, with the exception of items generally accepted by numismatists and not in any way misrepresented as genuine. To represent a numismatic item to be genuine only when, to the best of my knowledge and belief, it is authentic. To fulfill all contracts made by me, either oral or written, to make prompt payments upon delivery and to return immediately any item that is not satisfactory.

To give aid to members in their quest for numismatic knowledge. To comply with the Dealers Code of Ethics with respect to my sale or purchase of any numismatic item.

Dealers Code of Ethics

Approved August 1967 by the ANA Board of Governors; revised March 2002. As an ANA member dealer, I agree to comply with the following principles: To comply with the ANA Members Code of Ethics.

To purchase and sell numismatic items at prices commensurate with a reasonable return to the seller and for a reasonable return on my investment with regards to the then prevailing rate.

To furnish my clientele with advice on numismatic information to the best of my ability.

To not knowingly handle for resale forgeries, counterfeits, unmarked copies, altered coins or other spurious numismatic merchandise that is not clearly labeled as such.

To frequently publish my statement of return privileges, which will allow my customers a designated period of time in which to return numismatic material for a refund, except bullion or bullion-related material may not be returned for a refund. Said period of time shall not be less than fifteen (15) days from the recorded date of receipt or other transmittal of said material or not less than ten (10) days after my customer's receipt thereof or my attempted delivery thereof to my customer, whichever time period shall be the earlier. If a customer submits a misdescribed or overgraded coin to a certification service for authentication or grading and notifies me of such submission within ten (10) days of my date of mailing or other delivery, I will continue to recognize his/her return privilege for thirty (30) days after my customer's receipt of said coin from me. In an auction sale of consigned material, the return privilege period may be made available only to mail bidders, and the period for the return of such material may be limited to five (5) days from the mail bidder's receipt thereof or fifteen (15) days from the bidder's receipt of the invoice for such material or my attempted delivery of my invoice therefor, whichever time period shall be the earlier. Whether or not an item has been returned within the limited return period, a dealer may be subject to expulsion or other disciplinary action for a) the intentional sale of any counterfeit item or any item with an altered date or mintmark; b) the intentional misrepresentation as to the grade of any item; or c) the failure or refusal to provide a refund or replacement for any item referred to in a) or b) preceding, whether or not the sale or misrepresentation was intentional. Anything herein to the contrary notwithstanding, I shall have the right to enforce my written terms of sale furnished to a customer or the written provisions of my contract with a customer, even if such terms and/or provisions restrict or prohibit the return of numismatic material, contrary to the return privilege provisions set forth herein. However, said terms and provisions may not provide a time limit for the return of a counterfeit coin unless I have informed my customer that a coin may not be genuine and he/she has agreed that the coin cannot be returned to me for a refund in the event it is determined to be counterfeit.

To abide by all local, state and federal laws in all numismatic matters and to assist in the prosecution of violators of the law in this respect.

To recognize and respect my own contracts and business dealings and those of fellow members of the Association. To refrain from making unjustified and/or false statements or misrepresentations in my relations with others, and to fully cooperate in the advancement of our hobby and business in my relations with collector and dealer alike.

Any violation of this code will be grounds for expulsion from the American Numismatic Association.

TERMS OF SALE 1. Invoices for this auction will include combined postage for multiple purchases. Postage and insurance must be manually calculated after the sale for the entire group of purchases. For this reason there will be a seven to ten day delay after the sale date before invoices will be sent. It is important to note that you may not be contacted during the interim. If you have important questions, please feel free to call us at 1(641)684-6006. 2. This is a public auction and mail bid sale conducted by a licensed and bonded auctioneer. There will be a 15% Buyer’s Fee added to all invoices. The auctioneer may open bidding at a reasonable price on each lot, usually 5 or 10% above the second highest mail bid, and may set bidding increments as he deems necessary. The auctioneer’s decisions are final. In the event of a cataloguing error the auctioneer will announce the correction and the lot will be sold subject to that correction. The auctioneer, at his discretion may drop all mail bids from lots which have a major cataloguing error. All lots will be sold in numerical sequence, bids must be for whole lots as no lots will be broken. 3. Lots will be sold to the highest bidder with absentee bids taking precedence over an identical floor bid or internet bidder. In case of identical floor bids, the earliest mail bid received will be awarded the lot. Absentee bids will be treated as limits, wherever possible, depending on other mailbids and on floor activity, lots will be purchased for bidders for less than the submitted bid. McKee Coins, Inc. reserves the right to refuse any bid not felt to be made in good faith. Bids for a small fraction of the catalog estimates may or may not be honored. 4. Grading, which is subjective, and other adjectival descriptions are the opinion of the cataloguer unless otherwise stated and no warranty, expressed or implied, is made since these opinions can and do vary among experts. No lots may be returned by mail bidders without advance written permission and any request must be made within 3 days of receipt of the coins. Any coin removed from the original packaging or holder is considered sold! All sales are final 30 days after the conclusion of the sale. 5. All sales are strictly for cash in U.S. dollars, drawn on a U.S. Bank or via U.S. World Money order. Anyone wishing to purchase lots through the mail bids in Iowa will also be charged sales tax, postage, and handling unless otherwise exempt. We will accept credit cards via the telephone, however their will be a 3.5% additional charge for this service. We will NOT accept Pay Pal on this auction. 6. Floor bidders are expected to pay for and pick up their lots at the end of the sale or at our place of business within the next three days following the sale. 7. Shipping, handling, insurance, registration, 15% Buyer's Fee, and 3.5% Credit Card Service charges (if applicable)will be added to invoices delivered by mail. Absentee bidders will receive an invoice detailing their successful bid and shipping charges. Payment must be made within five days of receipt of notification and lots will be mailed after payment in full has been made. 8. Bids on behalf of corporations must be personally guaranteed by one or more of the principals. Each bidder is responsible for his bids; he cannot claim to act for a third party. 9. A financial charge of 1 1/2% per month (18% per annum) will be added to invoices unpaid after 15 days from the date of the auction. There also will be a one time charge of $10 for items held for over thirty days to cover clerking and filing fees. The buyer is responsible for attorney and other judicial fees and expenses involved in collection of outstanding invoices. 10. Bidders unknown to McKee Coins, inc. must establish references prior to the auction, or deposit 25% of the bids submitted in the first sale. This deposit will be applied to the successful bids, with overage refunded and differences billed. 11. Foreign bidders are responsible for customs or other regulations. All pacakges sent to countries outside of the U.S. must be sent with tracking information, insurance, and return receipt requested. Errors in bidding are the sole responsibility of the bidder. Mailbidders should check their bid sheets carefully. The accompanying estimates are for general guidance only and are not limits or reserves, actual prices may exceed or be only a fraction of these estimates. 12. The numbering system and catalog values on general issues of U.S. currencies have been borrowed from Robert Friedberg’s reference on this material. C.D.N. where used, comes from various issues of the past year’s Coin Dealer Newsletter bid prices. Other estimates are based on my personal experience and should prove be a fairly accurate consensus of the market. 13. Iowa 7% Sales Tax will be added to all invoices unless the coins are shipped out of state or sold for resale to a dealer with a valid sales tax permit. Certain estates and Conservatorships are exempt from tax. 14. Please take note! Our minimum mail bidding increment is $1.00. If bids are received with fractions of less than this amount they will be rounded down to the nearest dollar and will subject to competition from prior bids received for the rounded amount. 15. Bidding in this auction, whether in person or by mail, constitutes full acceptance by the bidder of the foregoing terms of sale. 16. Credit cards accepted via the telephone will be charged 3 1/2% in addition to the Buyer's Fee. Remember we will no longer accept Pay Pal payments!!!! 17. We will invoice your total auction wins within 7-10 days. PLEASE BE PATIENT!!! 18. You may wait until all five sessions have been concluded to pay for your items. You will be contacted via e-mail at that time. 19. All items will be sent within 15 days of the last session of the auction. 20. If you can not live with these terms, please do not bid on the items. Thank You, Owen C. McKee
